About Ms. Barbosa...

         Hello students, families, and friends, my name is Ms. Monica Barbosa and I am incredibly excited to be joining your Our Lady of Lourdes family.  I have only been here for a short time, but I feel so blessed to be in such a warm and welcoming environment.  It will take me a little bit of time to greet all of you but I am looking forward to building friendships with each and every one of you.
 
           I grew up in Norwalk, California and have been there all of my life.  I attended Saint John of God School and currently cantor their 9:45, Sunday Masses.  I attended Saint Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, go Swordsmen!  As you can see, I am a product of the Catholic School System and have nothing but fond memories and good things to say about my educational and spiritual journey.  I received my Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies from the California State University of Los Angeles, and a Graduate degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University.

           I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, volleyball, singing my prayers to God, and spending time with my family and friends.  When I am not in the classroom, I can be found hiking or camping with my cute, but cranky, dog Ace.  I love to learn, take in the beauty of nature, and try to laugh as often as possible.  I believe there is no such thing as a bad kid, only bad decisions; and how lucky we are to have many opportunities to learn from our mistakes.
